Chingri Machh Bhorta (Shrimp Mash) Recipe
Ingredients for Chingri Machh Bhorta:
- Chingri Machh (Shrimp): 250-300 grams
- Onion (chopped): 1
- Garlic (chopped): 4-5 cloves
- Green Chilies: 3-4
- Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp
- Red Chili Powder: 1/2 tsp (adjust to taste)
- Mustard Oil: 1 tbsp
- Coriander Powder: 1 tsp
- Salt: to taste
- Sugar: a pinch (optional)
- Oil: 2-3 tbsp
- Pudina Leaves (Mint): for garnishing (optional)
Steps to Make Chingri Machh Bhorta:
Clean the Shrimp:
Peel and devein the shrimp. Rinse them well and let the excess water drain.
Boil the Shrimp:
In a pot, add water, salt, and turmeric powder, then boil the shrimp. Once done, drain the water and set the shrimp aside.
Prepare the Spice Mixture:
In a pan, heat 2-3 tablespoons of oil and sauté the chopped onion, garlic, and green chilies. Fry until the onions turn golden brown. Add coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt, and stir well.
Mash the Shrimp:
Shred the boiled shrimp and add it to the spice mixture. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring the shrimp absorbs all the spices.
Final Touch:
Add mustard oil and cook for 1 more minute. Garnish with mint leaves (optional).
